Alabama & Florida Trip

After seeing El Paso for the last time in her rear view mirror, (YEAH!) Neva and Audrey headed north to Albequrque, NM where they picked up Katie for a road trip!!!!! It was then east to MO where they stopped long enough to let me jump in and then South to Sweet Home Alabama where we chilled out at Tony & Marsha's ultimate back yard.

After catching up with Tony, Marsha, Julie, Jay, Peggy and Charlie, the four of us headed further South to Panama City for some quality beach time. (Neva and Katie have been having horrible beach withdrawals after leaving Hawaii and living in the deserts of Texas and New Mexico!)

Here is a shot of us enjoying the beach in our speedos

While at Panama City we took a drive to Destin, FL where - can you believe it? Hard Rock & Bass Pro are across the street from each other! Now that is my idea of Mecca!

While in Destin we also satisfied our cravings for crab at the Crab Trap - talk about good sea food!

Tony knows the realtor in Marion and got us hooked up with a tour of the Carlisle House which is on the market again.

It was quite a nostolgic and bittersweet time for the Martin sibs. After the tour and lunch at the Calico Kitchen we bid a fond farewell to Charlie, Audrey, Tony and Julie and we headed north.

Katie had never been to Nashville, TN before so we stopped there for the night and had a quick tour of the Mother Church of Country Music, The Ryman Auditorium. (The original site of the Grand Old Opry for you non country music fans!)

Nashville is Neva's idea of Mecca, but alas our visit was cut short so we could get Katie to St. Louis to  catch her flight back to New Mexico. It was a great trip and as we say in Drexel - a good time was had by all!
